Having stipulated "friends" and not looking for a relationship... I thought I would be safe from finding the "one", especially since I was not looking & came in here just for my nightly social chats....well...guess what?... it happens!.. No matter how hard I tried to ignore the feelings, realisation of distance & sleepless nights from trying to drag myself away from my computer, engulfed with the presence of my perfect man, it was impossible.

Only advice that I can be give is that although you may fight the feelings, I think you can learn more from someone through typing out your true self, not a persona of who you want others to think you are... and there may be someone out there that will totally understand you to the point of being that missing jigsaw piece to make you whole.

Sometimes face to face can be daunting due to the concern or insecurities of whether we are pretty enough, funny enough, thin enough, or generally perfect enough as depicted in magazines....etc... by getting to know the mind of one, you just know if you will click or not...

I was lucky to find my other half, without even searching. Open your heart, be yourself and don't try and be someone you think others will like... you will only sell yourself short...

After 15 years of uncontentment, I know that I have found the one. No matter what hurdles jealous or unhappy people may throw our way or the obstacle that distance prevails, love is stronger than that.

Don't give up! It will happen, when you don't even expect it!

Wasn`t sure why I tried AMM but I am glad I did. After being a member for a week I talked to a lady who had quite a few interests the same as me. We talked for a few weeks before finally I went to meet her. It was the best thing that ever happened to me, she has travelled down from the country the last few weekends to see me and has now applied for a job very near here. I was listed on Aussie for about 4 months before I got a message from the now love of my life. "Ben1111" (I think) For some reason or another I thought there wouldn't be enough in common to warrant going for a coffee and put it off time after time.
I had some bad experiences with a few dates.. and one day decided that the man of my dreams would find me.. if I just stopped looking. It was that week that I got another message from my man.. saying lets get together for coffee..

Ive had my profile on AMM for about eight months and honestly didnt think I would meet any one genuine. We are two previous users of this site and feel compelled to give some feedback on the success we have experienced since meeting here.

Six months ago we both joined (on the same day incidentally) and contact was initiated via a wink. From that initial contact (despite the fact we lived well over a thousand klms apart) we developed a relationship over the next month through emails. This progressed onto phone calls and eventually a meeting. Having come to know each other through emails we already knew that our meeting would be a success on some level, what eventuated however was truly magical.

From the moment we laid eyes on each other it was absolute love at first sight and the scene was set for a romantic whirlwind. After our initial meeting we continued seeing each other regularly spending a small fortune on flights back and forth between our respective home towns. The times we were apart were spent emailing and texting each other to maintain contact until being apart could no longer be an option. I (Scotto1971) applied for a transfer at work and 3 days later was offered a position in Shelly6681's home town. Six months since our first contact (almost to the day) we are completely and totally in love and are living together in pure bliss and we are engaged to be married in 2006.
